Mr. Irrelevant no longer! The 49ers have signed QB Brock Purdy to a five-year extension worth $265 million that includes $181 million in overall guaranteed money. His new contract has an average salary of $53 million, meaning he will get paid more per week under his new deal ($2.9 million) than he did over the first three years of his career combined ($2.6 million).
“Brock is a tremendous leader and a fantastic representative for the 49ers organization, and we are ecstatic to get this deal done,” said President of Football Operations and General Manager John Lynch. “When we took him with the last pick in the Draft, we knew he had potential to succeed in this league, but we had no idea how special of a player he would become. He has played at an exceptionally high level since taking over the starting job, and we look forward to seeing him continue to lead this team for years to come.”
